SOME BRIEF INFO ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE

I am a Python /Django developer based in Edinburgh.

I previously taught Computing at Inverness College for three years. Prior to this I ran a computer business in Elgin, Moray for ten years.

Digital Technologies Lecturer

I was responsible for delivering the computing curriculum across courses from Access Level 4 to HND. I have been involved in developing the curriculum and have helped to introduce some new subjects.

I was also responsible for developing both teaching material and assessments and the role carried a large administrative reponsibility

Computing & IT Lecturer

I taught on the Computing curriculum to students ranging from Access Level 3 to HNC. I carried out the role of Student Advisor to the HNC Computing class.

IT Technician

Whilst completing my degree at Moray College I was approached to fill a position as IT Technician at the college. This network consisted of over 1000 clients running Windows XP and 15 servers running a combination of Novell, Windows 2003 and Linux.

Managing Director

I ran a computer business situated in Elgin. The client base was a mixture of private and corporate customers. The work I undertook included custom building PC systems, hardware and software installation, problem solving and repair. I provided a consultancy and support service to corporate customers. This also involved tutoring and training sessions. In March 2004 I opened a shop in the centre of Elgin. From there I retailed PC components and operated a repair workshop as well as servicing corporate support contracts
